Multilingualism is at the upward push - within the coming many years, as many as billion humans will research English as a moment language. the following level up from multilingualism is the area of the 'hyperpolyglot' or 'superlearner': an individual who claims to grasp not less than six languages. yet what does it suggest to 'know' a language?

Following the collapse of Cleddau Bridge at Milford Haven and the Yarra Bridge in Australia, the Merrison Committee was appointed in 1970 to consider the design criteria for box girder bridges. The committee were also asked to devise new design rules where necessary and to indicate areas requiring further research. The deliberations of the committee highlighted the deficiencies in the knowledge of aerodynamic behaviour of bridges and initiated a series of tests in their particular area of interest, which were carried out at the National Physical Laboratory (now the National Maritime Institute).
In these cases the dynamic response in the horizon tal direction is unlikely to cause an important dynamic magnification of the wind load effect. Caution is necessary for narrow long-span bridges, especially cable-stayed bridges. Caution may also be necessary for viaduct-type structures, even with moderate individual spans, if the piers are slender and the combined deckpier system is therefore relatively flexible in the horizontal direction. The aerofoil again offers a useful approach 30 to consideration of excitation in the vertical direction, especially for sections having large b/d.
